Seed Bead Bracelets

I am not one to wear expensive jewelry. I would rather have lots of costume jewelry. And I do. My favorite pieces to wear are earrings and bracelets. I always have my left wrist stacked with bracelets usually from PuraVida bracelets.

I like beaded jewelry too. Native American style is my favorite beaded jewelry. I find it so interesting how they can create beautiful jewelry using tiny seed beads.

After studying some photos of seed bead bracelets, I went to Amazon and ordered what I needed to create my own beaded bracelet.

I bought a loom, beads, bead thread and a beading needle. Then I began to create.

This is not the first time I have played with beads.

I remember during my school days back in the 80’s we would make little friendship pens. They were fun to create and the girls would make and trade them around the school.

Now I’ve been making bracelets. Here are a few I have made so far.

The blue one was made for my sister by request. They are not professional quality but no to bad for a first timer.  The problem I have is finding beads that are uniform in size. Some are thick, some are thin and some are lopsided.

My favorite one is the green one. This is the second one I made and It goes with a lot of different outfits.

Loom beading is a little tedious but easy. I found some “how to” videos on the internet and began creating. Threading the loom is the hardest part. I find it rewarding to see a pattern appear and how the colors come together.

As an Amazon Affiliate, the following is a Marketing Link,
which means I make a small percentage on the sales

Weaving

For years now, I have enjoyed working with yarns. I used to do a lot of crocheting and made a lot of things for my Etsy shop. I closed my shop last year. I did not want to price my items too high and it got to the point where the price of yarn went up and so did the selling fees. Rather than raising my prices, I just closed down. Now I just make things for friends on a whelm or when I have a baby shower to attend.

I like to always be doing something with my hands. I like to settle down after my evening shower and watch tv. I admit, If I am not doing something, I will go to sleep and miss the whole show. So I will usually pick up some fiber from my yarn basket and play around with crochet, macreme or weave.

Did you read that? I have been weaving now too. I was looking around on Pinterest and seen where you can weave with only a board or picture frame and a few feet of yarn or cord and thought I’d give it a try.

I found an old picture frame and began wrapping some cotton yarn in a figure eight motion. Then I threaded a needle and began to weave.
Below is my first try. Nothing came of this and I started over with a different yarn.

On my second try, I created a couple mug rugs (aka coasters).

They are a little wonky, but not bad for a beginner. I already use them. I always use a coaster. Not to protect my table but because I can not stand the sound of my cup hitting a hard surface.
It was relaxing sitting in my recliner and weaving. When my eyes get heavy, I will put it down and work on it again the next day.

I also made a couple weaved bracelets.

I have actually been wearing them to work and get lots of compliments. They are just my style. They are light weight, warm and comfy.

Always stay tuned because you never now what else I will decide to create.
That’s if I can keep my eyes open after a long days work.

Propagation Station

Can you believe it’s already the September? Where does time go? I love Fall, but then comes Winter. I am not a fan of the cold but I guess it’s not that bad. It gives me a reason to bring out the cuddly blankets and cute boots. The days will seem shorter, meaning it will be almost dark when I go to work and when I come home from work. I guess I’ll be doing my exercises more indoors now.

Now for my latest project…..
This Summer, I have enjoyed collecting a few plants. Now that I have a office cube, I have my own space with a whole window wall. I do not have a sunny window at home so I never really bought plants but now I do since I have a place to put them. I only have a few but they are thriving.  I want to start rooting some of them and start some new plants to repot in the spring.

After searching around, I saw that there are such things as a propagation station. Decorative clusters of small jars of water to place a piece of plant in so you can get it to root. Once rooted, you plant them in soil. I always just used a baby food jar or small vase. Those were boring and did not look good sitting around.

So, I came up with a cute idea of using macrame to create this hanging propagation station. I have seen these on line but could no find out how to make them so I used my own imagination and come up with this simple design.

I am still new at macrame but I would love to learn more. This little propagation station was super simple and only used two types of knots to create a cute wall hanging piece. If you are interested in one of these, it will cost you 15.00 each plus free shipping as long as it’s in the USA. This basically just pays for the supplies, packaging and me a cup of coffee. Just let me know by sending me an email or leave your email in comments and I’ll contact you.

Now, If you would want to make your own, here is what I used:

4mm macrame yarn.
1.5 wooden ring.
2 small glass bottles.
1 wooden bead (optional).

With two strands of yarn, cast on two larks head knots
Now you will have four strands of yarn hanging down.
With the four strands, make 10 square knots.
Place a 3-4 inch piece of yarn and make a square knot around it. (This will tie your bottle on).
Make 14 square knots.
Place a 3-4 inch piece of yarn and make a square knot around it.
Make 12 square knots.
Add bead (optional).
Tie a knot at the end and trim off the yarn to make your tassel.
Last, tie on your little glass bottles.

You can make it as long or short as you want by just subtracting or adding more knots and ties.
Enjoy.

Clay

Have you ever taken a pottery class? Playing with clay is something I have always liked to do. When I was small, I used to make things out of play dough and let it sit in the sun to dry. Where I lived we had lots of clay in our dirt. All we had to do was dig about 2 ft into the soil and find nice green or red clay. My friends and I would dig it up and make little bowls and cups for fun.

I dabbled a little in pottery at school but never came home with a project that I remember. I have a couple cute things my daughter made with clay when she was in school. She made a turtle that sits by our fireplace. One of her teachers actually asked to purchase it from her. This momma said “no”.

I have been wanting to go to a pottery class. I love clay pots and ceramics. However, I prefer the more rustic imperfect looks. If I knew how to work with pottery, I would want to make something like this…..

BUD VASE family

I love these little bud vases. They are so cute and unique and everyone of them is different. I would love to purchase one of these but I need to save for other things right now.

I am learning to appreciate bees and would love to make these……

I love these little Bee cups. They are meant to be placed in your garden. They catch rain water and the bees and butterflies will come in for a sip.
These are so adorable. You can have one or you can have a cluster. They also brighten up your garden and attract other small creatures.

I am currently looking around my area to see if there are any classes available. There is also different types of clay that can be purchased a local craft stores. I notice a lot of people I know play around with polymer clay and make earrings. I will have to read up on this a little bit and see what I can get my hands into.

Handmade Earrings

I haven’t been doing a lot of crocheting lately. I just ran out of ideas on things to make. I sell what I make but no one seems to be buying so it was costing me more to make things than I was collecting. So I have given it a break until some things start to sell.

However, I have been playing around with macrame. I remember my grandmother and aunt used to make macrame items back in the 70’s. They made key chains, plant hangers and pocketbooks. They would go around in the laundry mat and sell things. Grandmaw would at least make enough money to buy us ice cream because thats where she would take us after she sold a few of her crafts.

I guess it’s in my blood because I have been making these macrame earrings. I love the boho look and they are quick and fun to make.

Have you ever macremed anything?
Do you own a piece of macrame? Like …..The owl. Hahaha. I think everyone had a plant hanger or owl in the 70’s.

Email me if your interested in a pair of these earrings or you can find them in my Etsy shop.

Pocket Prayer Cloths

Between working, shopping, wrapping gifts, cooking and somewhat keeping the house clean, I worked in a few minutes to create these little pocket prayer cloths. My friend and neighbor asked if I would make her a few to give to some people she knew that might want one.
Once they were completed, I held them in my hands and prayed a little prayer over them, then packaged them ready to give.

What is a prayer cloth?
A prayer cloth is used by an individual or group of people that are praying for an ailing or sick friend or family member. The prayer cloth is usually prayed upon by the individual or group, and then given to or wrapped around the sick person.

The ones I made were small pocket size. They can be kept in your pocket, or purse. They are small enough to hold securely in your hands when you want to feel comfort.

I remember a church group giving one to my mother-in-law when she was sick. I thought it was so precious. It meant a lot to her.

My neighbor wrote me the other day and told me that the little prayer clothes were appreciated and loved by those that received one. She said it also brought tears to one of the receivers. This touches me heart. In the world we live in today, we all need to know someone out there is praying for us.

Now keep in mind, a prayer cloth does not heal. It is only a token of prayers said for the person it’s given to. Prayers, believing, and faith in God brings healing.

“So that from his body were brought unto the sick, handkerchiefs or
aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of
them”.
Act 19:12.

You can find the free pattern HERE.
Prayer cloths are not to be sold, only given.

Porch Snowman

While my daughter was home for Thanksgiving, we decorated for Christmas. I decided to use a lot of red and black buffalo plaid as my theme this year. I think it has a nice Winter cabin feel about it. My den looks cozy now with blankets and big buffalo plaid throw pillows on the couch. Winter will be here before you know it. I am not a big fan. I would much rather be talking about the beach and sunshine right now.

A friend of my daughters offered her some slats of wood of different lengths. She brought them home thinking her dad would like to have them. No, he did not need them, but he put them away just in case (It’s a man thing I guess).
Before he stashed them in the storage building, I grabbed two of the shorter pieces to use on a craft idea I had. I knew that when my daughter came to visit, she would want us to do some crafting together.

We created these adorable porch snowmen. Perfect for propping against the house, doorway or fireplace hearth.

We sanded down two slats of wood and headed to Walmart for some ribbon and toboggan hats. I grabbed some ribbon to match my Christmas theme and she opt for the blue for a frosty look. When we got home, our painted slats were dry. I only applied one coat because I wanted it to have a washed out or rustic look.

We laughed a lot while creating these cute porch snowmen because of how they each turned out different and had their own personality.
I have mine propped up on my porch beside my front door. He welcomes everyone that stops by.

Crochet Pumpkin Cup Cozy

I love Spring and Summer but I don’t mind Fall at all. There is something about the smell of fallen leaves and camp fires that make me enjoy the Autumn season. Everywhere you turn you see something Pumpkin Spicy. I am not a fan of pumpkin flavored foods except for pumpkin pie and even then, I like it covered with whipped cream.

This time of year is also when everyone enjoys their favorite hot drinks while relaxing outdoors or at ball games. Sometimes those hot drinks you get at takeout coffee shops can be hot on your hands even thought they are served in insulated cups. Same goes with cold drinks. Our hands suffer discomfort at times. This is why everyone should own a cup or mug cozy.

My neighbor and sweet friend asked me if I could make her a crocheted cozy for her Starbucks cups. She thought it would be fun to have one with a pumpkin or other fall look to it. So I whipped up a cute little cozy and delivered it to her.

I thought it was cute so I made another one (a little different) and added it to my Etsy shop. I am tempted to take it for myself but I’d rather see it sell. I can always make another one for me later. Meanwhile I have kept busy supplying a local store with my crocheted ear savers that help protect ears from all day mask wear. They happen to be a big seller and I have been making 100 of them a month. I am also wanting to crochet myself a blanket.

Are you a coffee or tea drinker or do you prefer cold drinks?
I love coffee with a sweet vanilla creamer.

The cozy pattern that inspired me can be found at Okiegirlblingnthings.com.

Be sure to visit my Etsy shop LiLiDi for more of my creations.

Clothespins

Who has never been to Disney world? This girl!!! That’s who! I will probably never go during the rest of my life. My husband has no intensions of us ever going and I’m not driving eight hours away without him. So thats that. But honestly, I really don’t care about going. Disney has never really been my thing though I used to love Mickey Mouse as a teenager. I grew out of that phase.

I speak of Disney World because my daughter will be going again for her 3rd time. This time will be different for her. She is a glamor girl and likes the fancy hotels but this time she has decided to rent a camper on a campground at the Disney park. I guess we put the camping life in her blood somehow through the years. I think she will enjoy it.

I decided to give her a couple little things she can use on her Disney Camping trip. One thing I think she can use will be some clothespins. There is a little story about hanging clothes on the line that Nick enjoys telling people. When he took me on my first ever camping trip to the beach, I was not so sure about it. As we drove through the campground to our destination, I was looking at campsites and said “There is no way I’m hanging my clothes on the lines like these other people are doing”.  Before the day was over, I was hanging towels on the line. I fit in and adapted just fine and love the camping life now.

Ok let me get back to the clothespins. I purchased a pack of the short bamboo clothespins and got a little crafty. You know I had to add a little Mom touch. I painted her a few sets of Disney themed clothespins.

These clothespins can be used for hanging clothes or used as chip clips. They really do make the best bag clips. I have several in my kitchen.

Each one is hand painted with acrylic paint and then sprayed with varnish for the final finish. The varnish will keep them from fading or staining. I had a lot of fun painting these and she seemed excited about taking them with her. A little part of me goes with her everywhere.

This would be a great project you can do with your kids. If you do not have varnish, you can use modpodge. A bag of clothespins in most stores are no more than a dollar and the paint is only 50 cent each at walmart. It’s the love and time put into painting them that makes them priceless.

If you would like to purchase a set you can also visit my Etsy shop.

It’s Been A While

It’s been a while since my last blog post. I mean, not a really long time, but longer than I had planned.
I’ll try not to let it happen again but I’m sure I will.

I have trouble writing blog post when things are not comfortable in the world around me. I like to blog positive, happy or fun post.
Oh, I have a lot to say about the things going on in the world today but I try to stay away from political topics or bad news. We get enough of that on TV.

I also had a pretty busy week last week so I was never in a quiet frame to write a post.
As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have been crocheting “ear savers”. They are these little bands that fit around the back of your head with a button on each end. Medical workers use them to hold their mask on without having to put the masks around their ears. They have been wearing mask so much that their ears are sore. These are a big relief to them.

There is business in my town called “Morgans Shoes and Bootery’. They also are a big supplier of professional scrubs. This is where most medical workers and others buy their uniform scrubs. This means they are probably in need for ear savers too. My handmade ear savers are a big hit and they sell out quick. They have been ordering 50 at time from me. I can have them ready usually within 3 days.

I also had a couple of job interviews last week. Both interviews went well and they seemed to like me.
One already denied me and I am currently waiting back from the other. My search continues.
With all the craziness going on right now, a lot of businesses have put a freeze on hiring. Hopefully things will get better. I’m tired of being home all the time. However, I love all the quality time I get to have with my husband.

Whittle a Little

I remember back when I was about twelve years old, my daddy gave me a pocket knife. Ever since then, I have always liked pocket knives. I remember it had about a 2 inch blade, a pearl handle and his company name down the side. There was a little beaded chain at the end so you could hang it from your key ring. I played with that little knife a lot. I used to find sticks and sit and whittle them into arrows. I would also find gigantic acorns and hollow out the inside and make beads. Through the years, daddy would give me a pocket knife. I wish I still had them.

I have a few pocket knives that Nick actually found on the road during his walks. My favorite is a little pink one.

Speaking of walking, I told Nick during our walk the other day that I was looking for a stick so I could attempt to carve a crochet hook.
Nick thought I was crazy and said, “we can’t afford a hospital visit to get a finger sewn back on”. He wasn’t even aware that I liked to whittle. I reminded him that if I have the idea in my head, I was gonna make it happen. So I picked up a few sticks from the base of a maple tree and carried them home.

I went outside on a beautiful sunny day and began to whittle a little. After a couple wasted sticks and an hour of chiseling and carving, I had created my very own hand crafted crochet hook. My fingers were sore and blistered. I felt pretty proud of myself. I gave it couple more days for my fingers to rest then made another one. The 2nd one was a little bigger and easier to carve.

I had to try it out so I crocheted a little mug rug for a test run.

It worked good but was a little rough gliding through the stitches. It needs to be smoothed out a little more and some adjustments need to be made so it will be more comfortable with my grip.

I may just leave them as they are and put them away. I accomplished what I wanted to do and that satisfies me.

What do you think?
Have you ever carved or whittled anything?

Mask Extenders

The world is so weird right now. I have so many mixed feeling toward this pandemic, quarantines , closings and social distancing.
I still think its 40% contagious and 60% political. None of this makes since to me. I have never seen the world jump so fast on shutting down.
But that’s just me. Just in case, I still take precautions and urge others to do so too. Rules are rules.

Do you have a mask yet? I purchased a few mask for my household from a neighbor. Each one in different prints just to be fun. I never knew face mask would make a fashion statement.

My mom just completed several mask too. They were all donated to healthcare groups. She also made a few for other family members.

I had people contact me about making some mask extenders for the nurses in the ER. The elastic straps on their mask that fit around their ears are becoming irritating and their ears are taking the toll. These little straps fit around the back of their head usually over a pony tail and the elastic can button to it leaving the ears free from strain.

So, I made a few for the ER nurses here in town. I received a message yesterday that they were very grateful for them as they have been a big help in relief.
Now I have been working on creating more incase anyone else needs them. Its’s all I could do with the buttons I had. I have resources for more buttons if needed.

So far I have not been over run by them so it’s been relaxing to sit and crochet. This also gives me something to use up my scraps of cotten yarn.

What are some things keeping you busy while your staying in?

A Different Easter Sunday

This Easter Sunday was definitely different due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the meaning of this special day stayed the same.

We are still practicing social distancing and stay in orders, but my daughter wanted to come home for the weekend. Of course she can. I am a mother. She is my only child. I have Mom-ed through the flu, many strep throats, infections, viruses, scarlet fever, and chicken pops. I refuse to let covid-19 stop me now.

So she came home and we had a great time together as usual as we exercised, baked goodies and dyed eggs.

My daughter woke up Easter morning to an Easter basket full of goodies, puzzles and little things she needed (shes 28 but when shes home, she 12 again). She also had us a little Easter basket full of snacks.

After breakfast we got dressed and headed to church for Sunday service.
It was not an ordinary service. It was a drive in service. Definitely different.

Everyone sat in their cars as the singers sang a few songs and the pastor preached a great service from the porch of a little house on the church grounds.

You could hear horns honk in place of the Amens you normally hear in the sanctuary on a normal Sunday. It was rather nice but sad that it has come to this alternative. I talked to my daddy and saw momma sitting in their vehicle.

This is me and my sister sitting beside each other.

It looked like it was going to rain but the rain held off until the service ended. As soon as he dismissed everyone, the rain came down. .

When we came home after church, we had a small Easter dinner complete with ham, potato salad and broccoli casserole.

Hope you all had a great Easter despite of the changes taken place and social distancing.

Repurposed Home Keys

Do you have a drawer of keys? Or do you have key rings laying around full of keys that no longer belong anywhere? Well, I do.

Why is it that we keep keys? When we move away or our locks are changed, people tend to keep the keys. I even have old car keys from when I was a teenager. They are no longer any good.
Or are they?

Nick and I got a little crafty last week when my daughter said she was looking for a small key hanger for her new little 400 sq ft studio apartment. She loves to throw her keys up on a hook when she comes in. She has always shared an apartment with her Kappa Delta sister but has now decided to try things on her own. Her apartment is adorable and we can’t wait to see how she decorates it.

We looked around for some ideas to make her a key hanger. Hooks can be expensive, so we found a cool way to make some hooks using old keys. Nick carefully bent the keys into hooks. With a little cutting, sanding and painting, we created her the perfect key hanger. This key hanger will also have some sentimental value as each key is from a family home.

There is a key from both her grandparents homes.
One key is from the first house she grew up in and our first home.
And one key is from our current home she continued to grow up in until she moved out on her own.
The wooden part of the key hanger is a piece of the molding from our house.

Nick did the sanding and I did the painting and writing.
We decided to give it a distressed look by sanding down and scuffing some areas.

We had fun making this together and all it costed us was a dollar paint brush and a Sharpie.
Now let’s hope the area where she wants to put it will be big enough in that tiny little uptown apartment.

Do you have old keys laying around? I think one of these days people will no longer need keys as everything is touch or speech activated.
Even cars nowadays are cranking up by themselves.

New Shop Look and QVC

I finally got my house back in order after the Christmas and New Years celebrations. I am ready to start decorating for Valentines Day. January can just fly by if it wants to. I am not a fan of Winter. Though we do get most of our snow in February and March, at least I know that Spring is just around the corner.

I have been busy crocheting some new items for my Etsy Shop. I have changed it up a bit. I used to have a lot random crochet items for sale. Many were hard to duplicate for those who wanted a different color or size. I get sore eyes from crocheting colors I do not like. I get bored and tired of looking at it. My favorite colors to crochet with are more earthy tones. Some may call it drab but I enjoy it much better. Just something about the cozy warm feeling of natural colors.

So, I have decided to just sell more “basic” items. Things that will be easy to whip up for a custom order. There is no fancy frill, lace or ruffles. Just plain basic items that can be used every day. This also allows me to use better grades of yarn.
Along with new items, I even changed the look of my shop title and logo. So please head over there and check it out. Let me know what you think!

Today, I will be rushing home after church service in time to make a phone call.
I will be calling into QVC at 12:20pm today. I will be talking to Marie Osmond about my success in losing 50 lbs on Nutrisystem. Though the call only last about 3 minutes, I am always nervous and forget what I want to say. I have even tried jotting down some key words to help me out but I usually never think to look down at them. I am too busy watching the TV screen. It will be fun though and always an honor. There will also be other success stories calling in. Some of them I have met at photo shoots. They are all genuine and a pleasure to be around.

Nutrisystem will be on QVC for 24 hours with some great values. If you want to lose weight before summer, this will be a great time to get a great deal.

Tune into QVC January 5th at (or around)12:20
to hear me speak about my success with Nutrisystem.

Hat and Mittens

I have had a lot of time on my hands lately. I spend my mornings working out, reading blogs, and applying for jobs. Sometimes after lunch, we will go out a little while and run a few errands just to get out of the house. I can hardly wait to go grocery shopping once a week as it gives me a reason to put on a bra and jeans. Cabin fever is setting in.

One thing I have been enjoying is crocheting and watching Hallmark movies.
The other day, I entered a giveaway on Instagram and won a skein of Yarn Bee SugarWheel Yarn. I would not usually buy this particular type of yarn myself as it has wool in it and wool makes me break out and itch. This yarn was a wool/ acrylic blend that fade in and out with colors of gray. It was easy to work with. I am now a fan and didn’t suffer any allergic reactions.

With the yarn I won, I created this cute adult size hat using my favorite stitch called the lemon peel stitch (also called the grit stitch). It consist of a single stitch followed by a double stitch throughout. I love this stitch because it works up fast and has a chunky puff texture. I am currently working on a blanket using the same stitch.

We have some little elf shoes on a string that we put on the tree every year. One of my daughters favorite things to do is make them the last ornament on the tree. Nick doesn't care to help us decorate the tree, but we always hand him the little elf shoes and he turns around backwards and throws the shoes on the tree. We choose to leave them where they land no matter how wonky they hang. It always makes us laugh. Now my daughter wants a set to throw on her own tree each year. I could not find another set likes ours so I figured I would make her something equivalent. I crocheted her this set of tiny mittens.

She can now make a wish and throw them on her tree like we always do with the elf shoes.
They were so fun to make, I decided to make a couple more for friends.

I have also been trying to learn to knit. I am not having any luck. As far as I can get is a few rows before I mess up and don’t know how to fix it unless I start over. I really would love to learn to knit but I have given up trying for a while.

Note: Crochet and Knit are two different things. Crochet uses one hook needle and knitting uses two long pointed needles. Knitting to me has a softer and prettier texture.

A Birthday and Pumpkin Painting.

This weekend we celebrated my sweet husbands birthday. His birthday was Sunday but I started it off on Friday by making reservations at a new upscale restaurant in town. The name of this restaurant is Barristers at the Esquire.

Barristers is located in the center of our little town, inside one of the oldest and tallest buildings. This was the old Lawyers building. It had been empty for years until it found a buyer who has spent a couple years making something out of it.

This is my favorite building and I have always had this goal to get to the roof of it. There is just something about the size and architect of this building that makes me want to visit the top.

Well, so far I have made it to the first floor. That is where the new restaurant is. The rest of the floors are still under construction. It will soon me an upscale hotel called the Esquire.

Walking in, I immediately got a 1940’s vibe.  I have never been inside this building in my life but could feel the history all around me. With the smell of new paint, chandeliers and oldies music, we took our seats. It was quiet and only a few other tables were occupied. After looking at the menu, I was ready to make my tastebuds smile and my pocketbook cry.

I ordered the Ranch Steak with fingerling potatoes, mushrooms, and horseradish ham crumbs in a Demi Glaze.

Nick ordered the Carolina Coastal white fish. Maui Maui was the fish of the day. It came on a bed of glazed sweet potatoes and Carrots.

It was all delicious and we had a wonderful evening.

Saturday, My Daughter came home and we all went to my moms for a big birthday dinner with Country style steak and gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, pasta salad, biscuits and lots of desserts. Nicks request was pound cake. She never lets us down on a good meal and dessert. We left stuffed and it was a lot better and more satisfying than the fancy dinner the night before.

Sunday after church, my daughter and I made cookies and painted pumpkins.

She painted hers a Disney theme. I opt to paint a butternut squash instead of a pumpkin.

Scary huh?

Bracelet Stand Updo

I'm a little behind on my blog post lately. I try to keep them flowing but sometimes I fall behind. When this happens, It's usually because of an unexpected happening or simply writers bloggers block. I know there are not rules but I still like to stay active for your reading pleasure. ha ha.

If you follow me, you know I am also a brand rep for PuraVida bracelets. With that comes a lot bracelets that are gifted for promotions or purchased myself. I needed a place to put them all. I was keeping them in a small drawer but they were not fun to get too. I was also finding them scattered throughout the house where I would take them off and lay them down.

I told my husband to be on the lookout for a bracelet stand. I have other bracelets too and it would be nice to have a place to keep them organized. We searched a few stores around here and the only one I could find was at a TJmaxx store and it was over priced and looked no more than a covered toilet paper roll on a stick.

Last week he found a bracelet stand at a local thrift store and picked it up for only five dollars. It was not the prettiest thing as it had a cardboard base with a missing drawer. He also grabbed a small cutting block for a dollar.

He replaced the base using the small cutting block and it looks much better to me. I was going to change the crystal knobs with more of a rustic look to match the base but I think I will just leave it as it is for now.

A few screws and six dollars later, I now can display my bracelets and easily choose what to wear with my outfit for the day.
